40th Anniversary Celebration The 2011 Congress marks the 40th anniversary of the Societys annual meeting. The Society will celebrate its 40th anniversary aboard the USS Midway Museum on Saturday, January 15, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To highlight this special occasion, all registrants will receive a commemorative volume of turning points within the profession from the last 40 years. The book, The Society of Critical Care Medicine: The First Forty Years, is based on the research of archived material and interviews from key leaders in the field of critical care. Past SCCM presidents and founders of the modern critical care movement will be available to recount the early development of critical care and to sign your copy of the anniversary publication. The USS Midway Museum is the longest-serving Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Once aboard this virtual floating city, attendees will have the opportunity to relive nearly 50 years of world history through a variety of hands-on activities including flight simulators, music videos, short films, interactive exhibits, and much more. All registered Congress attendees and guests are welcome to attend.
